The ATNF also runs the Long Baseline Array (LBA), utilising all available antennas in Australia (details at www.atnf.csiro.au/vlbi). The LBA is open to all applicants, and the ATNF and its LBA partners, primarily University of Tasmania (http://www.phys.utas.edu.au/physics/physics_research_astro.html) and Curtin University of Technology (http://astronomy.curtin.edu.au/), also conduct VLBI research covering diverse subjects such as AGN, X-ray binaries, supernovae, pulsar proper motion and spectral line observations of many molecular species (OH, Methanol, H2O,...).
The LBA is also strongly involved in e-VLBI developments and VLBI has been identified as a strategic priority for the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP).

We'd strongly encourage suitably qualified candidates to apply for this Fellowship to work with us in VLBI research and development.  For more information on Australian VLBI please contact us.
